    MCC/App (East)/Public Notices/10/2015

    March 3, 2015

PUBLIC NOTICE NO.  09 /2015 (EAST)

It has been observed that the importer/his representative/clearing agents visits the Collectorate for appearing before the concerned Deputy/Assistant Collectors of group for second review hearings all the day at their convenience. On the other hand,  most of the time the concerned AC/DC let the importer’s representative/ clearing agent wait for the audience, for being busy in doing some other official assignments of priority.  This results in waste of time for the trade representative on one hand and put undue pressure on the officers for disposal of cases without much due diligence at the end of the day.

    2.       In order to save the precious time of trade as well as the customs officers and to undertake quality work out put by the department, it is decided that henceforth, the public hearing time before the Deputy/Assistant Collectors is fixed from 9.30 a.m to 2.00 p.m on all working days. During this time no internal meetings will be held with AC/DCs by seniors except in exceptional situation of urgent nature.

    3.            The trade representatives are requested to abide by the fixed timings and get their hearings conducted during the prescribed time.  No one shall be entertained for hearings after 2.00 p.m. The hearing timings shall be applicable/observed from 09-03-2015.
